Botijo

A botijo is a traditional Spanish earthenware vessel designed to cool water through evaporation. Handcrafted on a potter's wheel, these jugs are often adorned with hand-painted designs, reflecting regional artistic styles. The porous nature of the clay allows water to seep through the walls, evaporating and thus cooling the contents, making the botijo both functional and decorative.
